Born and raised in San Francisco, I experienced firsthand the challenges like the ever-increasing cost of living. Like many others, I sought ways to supplement my income while working full-time.
A significant life event led me to adopt Louie, a puppy who quickly became my best friend. Louie's severe separation anxiety presented unexpected challenges, his destructive tendencies led to losing – a passport, iPad, carpets, walls, you name it – a constant source of stress and financial strain.
Desperate to find a way to offset the costs of Louie's "adventures," I turned to a passion project: creating flavorful spiced nuts for friends and family on special occasions.
Two incredible individuals, Sean and Gillian, two owners of Casements, a beloved Irish pub in the Mission District of San Francisco, saw the potential in my creation. They encouraged me to sell my nuts, becoming the first to believe in Millie's Munchies and the first to carry them at their bar.
And so, Louie, my furry muse, inspired the birth of Millie's Munchies LLC. (Though, let's just say "Louie's Missing Nuts" was almost the name)
I am proud to build a small LGBTQ+ owned business that brings joy of healthier snacks to others while honoring the bond I share with my best friend.
